Our Mission:
Pets Alive Westchester is a no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to improve the lives of companion animals everywhere by any means possible, including rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education.
We care for dogs, cats and rabbits at our sanctuary in Elmsford, NY. Many of the animals at Pets Alive Westchester are older, have special needs or require special care.
Pets Alive Westchester is one of the oldest no-kill organizations in the United States - we are over 80 years old and are recognized within the local community, nationwide and around the world as a leader in developing alliances to end the killing of adoptable animals and promoting the humane treatment of animals.
About Us:
Pets Alive Westchester houses some 200 dogs and 300 cats of all ages.
Since 1931, the goal of the Elmsford Animal Shelter, now Pets Alive Westchester, has been to find permanent, loving homes for all the dogs, cats and rabbits who pass through our doors. Pets Alive Westchester is 100% privately funded, relying totally on the generosity of the community to meet all of our our needs.
