Volunteers Wanted!

Volunteers are invited to apply to work in the various animal care areas. Skilled electricians, plumbers and carpenters are also needed. In addition, there is a need for volunteers willing to do manual labor in a variety of construction and maintenance projects. We welcome volunteers with experience in bathing and grooming, training, T-Touch, adoption counseling, data entry, filing, and office work.

We are also always looking for "greeters". Welcoming people, directing them to the proper place and helping to answer their questions!

People interested in applying for our volunteer opportunities should contact the Sanctuary Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@petsalivewest.org. Please also sign up for our mailing list (you can do so in the left sidebar) so that we can keep you updated on volunteer opportunities and requests! Thank you so much for caring.

We welcome your "well-behaved" children. There is no minimum age for volunteers at Pets Alive Westchester, we ask only that all volunteers be willing and able to follow directions from staff and senior volunteers. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and must stay with you the entire day. We also welcome your school or organization projects.

Volunteer Orientationspan>
Required for ALLi> animal care volunteers
Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. and another at 1:00 p.m.
If those times don’t work for you, please email volunteer@petsalivewest.orga> to arrange to have an orientation on Sunday or any weekday.
Orientation lasts just 15-20 minutes and is required.
This just helps us to explain to you which leashes to use on which dogs, or which animals to be careful with, or other situations that we want you to be aware of for your safety or the animals safety. If these days do not work for you please email the volunteer coordinator and we can schedule a special time or day for your orientation.
